Thursday, January 31, 2013 @ 11:34 PMMotivation to run?
![]() ![]() For the first time in 2013, I finally managed to persuade myself to run 2.4km. For those people who regularly run, getting 5 points might be nothing. But 14.01minutes seems to be a huge challenge. GAH! Ok some tips for those who want to really pass NAPFA 2.4km, good luck! Tip #1: Start small Start with shorter distances twice or thrice a week. Well, my teacher told me to run for 20 minutes everyday but I bargained with my body. I personally feel jogging/running for 1km twice a week is reasonable. From my bad experience today, I can tell you how horriblly wobbly your legs will feel when you have not ran for a month. Your muscles would not corporate as it’s so sudden. Tip #2: Stamina In relation to Tip #1, it is to improve your own stamina. It all depends on how much you discipline and prepare yourself. To be prevented are gas drinks- CocaCola, Sprite, Energy drink, Coke Diet as it affects your stamina. Although it has a ‘diet’ at the back of Coke, doe not mean it’s healthier. Yes, you can take one energy drink before the run but one is enough. What is most recommended is a balanced-diet. Tip #3: Stretch properly You need to be aware of which muscles you’d be using most or least. It’s best to consult a coach (PE lessons) or you can just research online! Google is our savior. I used to think stretching was senseless and couldn’t understand why there was a need to stretch. It’s like warming up your body and there’s less chances to feel pain halfway running (for me at least). I wouldn’t advice you to wake up and straight away run, tried and suffered, trust me. Tip #4: Don’t kancheong! Only if you’re confident that you can maintain the starting speed or get faster, then carry on. Don’t kancheong when you know you can’t maintain it, stopping is demoralizing for yourself. Keep your pace in a rhythm. What I usually do is jog while songs are played in my mind. Your mind has this magical power to naturally control your legs to synchronize with the beat of the song. It helps to distract your mind from focusing on how tired your body is and makes your run/jog more interesting.
Just in case if you don’t know what’s kancheong..
Tip #5: Drink lots of water Ok not a lot to the extent you get bloated, but enough to sustain you for the entire run. Anyone who exercises can become dehydrated especially in hot, humid conditions (almost all day). There is a possibility of heat stroke or heat exhaustion. ![]() OKAY, that’s it, hope I’ve helped! Jia you :) Labels: be patient., exercise, Makan, motivation back to top? |

@ 10:53 PMUpdate of my wednesday
Quick update: Literature test tomorrow on "Shakespeare". My entire class has no idea on what exactly is gonna be tested on "Shakespeare". I actually raised my hand and called my teacher for more than 3 times to ask but he or she simply ignored or maybe didn't hear. But the rest of my class did, so maybe because I forgot to bring my books today? My mistake, but if really to ignore a student's uncertainty? Ok can. Nevermind, shall do cip proposal where the ic herself ain't coorperating. Usually I would be fine with all the tasks every graduating student is given, but it has been 42 hours of my phone not working. I just don't get it, compared to all my friends, I feel that I have taken good care of this phone but it suddenly decides to be a rebel. Aish. Chemistry is slowly making sense but I'm secretly dying in Malay. Boleh tak Kalau Saya blog dalam Bahasa? Karangan saya amat rabak Labels: study back to top? |

Saturday, January 26, 2013 @ 7:55 PMLife is a test
You know how when you get really pissed at someone and can’t control your emotions you say “I hope you die”. Please, take back your words because words came with a very strong feeling which turns into a wish or should I say a curse.
Recently 2 precious people just found out they were sick, as in really sick and it runs in the family. It’s so serious to a point that he has to go for (i can’t even say it). One of my friends just went for a small ‘fix’ and I finally understand why he has been missing sometimes. If I, just receiving the news already can’t handle it, how can they control the pain they feel? Plus keeping it from their friends!
Just 5 minutes ago I checked my twitter and got to know Ibrahim (this i can mention) lost his memory when he passed out halfway through a soccer match. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH why do people over exert themselves. Maybe they didn’t know, but what I’d like my not-so-many readers to do is to take care of your health. Even if whatever sickness runs in the family, stay positive because life is a test. Test on how strong you are, and it’s all in the mind. Ibrahim, even if I’d only seen you for 10 days straight, Bambarayon will try our best to help you as much as we can. Doa is the best. Visiting two of them soon.
AND PLEASE TRY TO CONTROL YOUR SMOKING ADDICTION IF YOU DO.

Haven’t cut my hair for 6 months or so maybe something new? Always cutting about this length (right) so maybe something wild and centre parting? Still unsure, we’ll observe in a month’s time :) Today was science and math day. My shoulders couldn’t handle the weight. Someone help me in chemistry, please?BTW, my class’ noticeboard is amazinggggg. Labels: distraction, motivation, My bag was effing huge., My hair is short again, study back to top? |

Friday, January 18, 2013 @ 3:31 AMLater on that day....
If you have been following me, you’d be aware that I had deep interest in NCDCC since private days. But never have I predicted that my platoon would slowly be separated due to rank. This chill group of friends made me realize to not be so tensed and strict all the time. We were bold enough to take photos in that few minutes left for planning.
For the first time in our batch’s history, we are going to have Games Day! This is partially because we finally have a chance to propose to Ma'am and it’s finally planned.
So if by chance, any future cadets reading this, YOU’RE WELCOME.

@ 3:17 AM4 periods of math
You know how a human’s (especially my) attention span is very low? I have to stay awake and focus as it’s one of my last laps for O's, including another 120 long minutes of math today. Actually it wasn’t such a bore when my teacher decided to be goofy.
Us: TGIF
Mr R: No, today is fryday. You all will get fried by me.
Us: Oh my god!
Mr R: Who called me?
Us: Cher, can we have a break?
Mr R: You want a break?! I break your head.
*explaining unbiased die* How to experiment if the coin is fair or not?
Mr R: You give one dollar to your chem teacher, she puts the coin inside the beaker of chemicals, your one dollar melts and its gone. You give one dollar to your physics teacher, he puts the coin in the sun, the coin get burnt. So, no choice, you give one dollar to me (math teacher if you still don’t know) thank you ah, I can buy water downstairs.
HAHAHA :’D It’s more entertaining with him saying it on random. I shall update you on this hilarious man whenever possible.

Thursday, January 17, 2013 @ 9:12 PMJanuary babies
They get to turn 16 so fast, while I have to be patient for another 8 months. Everyone kept bombarding me the entire week, well at least it keeps me awake in class. My Ncdccmates planned to watch our first NC16 movie on April and me, still being 15, will have to poof my way in to the cinema as they would check our ICs. I suddenly feel so illegal :O
Stayed back in the canteen just to complete our never ending pile of work with Syahindah and Aisyah. This is my journey to L1R2B2 12!

Tuesday, January 15, 2013 @ 6:38 PMGorgeous surprise random cake
The names are arranged according to age.As for Zahidah, she just got her O level results and she did amazing. Hopefully i get there as well. As for myself, actually I don’t know why I deserve this cake considering I didn’t do that great. As for Amirah, she did well for PSLE. As for Diyana, she could manage the four ordinary singaporean student-subjects plus arab subjects. As if the chill-black pepper crab and the sweet dessert wasn’t enough, the package came with instax mini 8 with films and polaroid album. Hehee~ Gonna’ make full use of it in my last year of secondary school. :) (Friday, 11 Jan) back to top? |

Saturday, January 12, 2013 @ 10:42 PMCCA Open House in JWSS
If you still haven’t figured out what your interests are, this might be the perfect event to go to!
Ok why am I so friendly and persuasive? Just had a pop speech diagnostic test the day before -.- And I have a felling that I got the wrong format.
Anyway, I feel that it was a success for every UG as all the performances have improved compared to last year’s. Got to go around the school this time with mascots (who were melting inside), instead of answering parents questions at the booth as usual. Mac at the park with sncos plus ncc. GRENADEEEEEE haha

Wednesday, January 9, 2013 @ 10:16 PMSec threes take over
For the first time, the 8 SNCOs weren’t in charge of anything, we were just helping. It was time for the sec threes to learn and understand how we felt when they didn’t attend cca or came late or play during serious times. As the parade square was taken up by RC, NCC and BB, we had no space to practice. So we used the area outside cd room to practice our skit. Such a pity that it rained just when we transferred all the materials down. Wrapped the man-made buildings as though it was a present. Had to extend training till 6pm due to slow progress and video-taking.(actually Im writing this on 14th jan) Labels: be patient., Happy shopping, motivation, ncdcc back to top? |

Tuesday, January 8, 2013 @ 11:13 PMSingapore Poly Open House 2013
This was my last chance this year for all the Poly’s open houses. Firstly, Singapore Poly is so convenient! You just drop off at Dover mrt and there’s obvious signs directing you to SP, even a sotong like me didn’t get lost. As I went there with Irliana, we had to go for two different tours, sort of. I just got to know that Hotel and Leisure course was first opened in Singapore Poly and it had opened up both HM and FM for year 3 students.Well, for the course that Im interested in is more Media and Communication has sort of been the perfect fit for me. You can even be mentored by the Starcom MediaVest Group, which is known to be one of the largest brand communication companies. Im not sure on psychology, business and PR, but we’ll be learning that as a compulsory subject also. Overall, I find that the course covers all parts of media and tiny bits of important knowledge for our future careers. L1R4: 13 Minimum requirement: B3 for English and a pass for E/A Math. @ 11:03 PMNgee Ann Poly Open House 2013
A few of us got lost in the first 15 minutes in the school. It was so huge that there was a shuttle bus to each school or station which we were thankful of. *wipes perspiration* Oh not to mention, my schoolgirls were in very thick clothing called a pinafore. 3 of us got lost at level three and simply walked around ourselves and got a cookie :D Well, now that they’ve elaborated more on the different types of Film and Media Studies. I can't make up my mind as it all sounds weirdly exciting. Im not really a DJ type nor film making but more on writing, advertising, marketing and interviews? I don’t know, I just started the year. Let’s see where I am in a year’s time, hopefully.Labels: Everyone was so enthu, new year, school trip back to top? |

Tuesday, January 1, 2013 @ 9:30 PM2013 is the year I’d been nervous for,
Instead of going for countdown outside, Nadi Shaki Ana decides to watch The Ring 2 from 2012-2013. Haven’t gone swimming for 3 weeks already and I don't think I’d even have time to breathe. Resolutions? Focus in class duh, seriously work on my MT. A for effort. Bibik cooked some really tasty mashed potato and cheese.Labels: Makan, new year, no photos :( back to top? |
